Bridal Jewellery: A fashion statement!

Indian women since ages has cherished jewellery and specially so when it comes to her marriage. Shopping for Bridal jewellery is a dream of every women and preparations start months before the D-day. Over the years, Bridal jewellery in India has gone a metamorphosis in its anatomy and has become a fashion statement for Indian Women now. The jewellery is no longer considered a separate entity rather it is seen complimenting the attire in unique ways.

Indian Bridal Jewellery

The basic ornaments worn in Indian Bridal wear are Maangtika, earings, armbands, necklace, bangles and rings. The Maangtika that adorns the central parting on Bride's forehead, has come a long way from being a stereotyped gold ornament to a stylish and fancy accessory available in different colors, shapes, sizes and materials. The hair accessory now are used to suit the Bridal attire, that is if the attire reflects diamonds, the effect is expected out of the Tika.

Earings are now available in a variety of patterns from small delicate ones to huge patterns covering the whole year. Bridal earings are desired to be a noticeable ornament these days. Brides and families are now ready to experiment with the color and material of the earings. One ornament that is a must and that gathers maximum attention of an Indian bride is the necklace. There is a present trend of wearing multiple neck-pieces and gathering them in unique arrangements.

Indian Bridal Jewellery

Bajuband or the arm-band is an interesting accessory these days, that is sometimes often seen covering the entire hand. Another hand accessory that holds tremendous importance in Indian weddings is the bangle. Hand bangles are now available in different embellishments and materials. Like other jewels, rings are also available in different metals, colors and gemstones. Finger rings are generally worn on the ring fingers, however, finger rings can be worn on several fingers, as per the preference of the bride.
